A LITTLE INFO ON KALAMATA.I have taken friends of mine to Kalamata and they have had a great time. Did you know Kalamata has been named Europe’s most livable city?
Start at the sea front on odos Nedontos - walk all the way to Filoxenia hotel, about 3 kms. The Paralia is lined with multitudes of cafes, taverns, restaurants. Most of them have the physical store on the opposite side of the road with lots of tables etc. on the sea side of the road, right on the Beach. There is a cycle path(cycles can be hired) all the way along and plenty of trees, not many 'tourist' shops, so the place has a good feel to it. This is where mostly the Greeks hang out. The beach is mainly a mixture of gravel/pebbles with white sand in the deep water it has the blue flag for clean water, and there are lifeguards. The mountain is right behind the sea. The place is bustling any time of year especially in the evening, but mainly in summer. The views all around day and night are beautiful. Superb sunsets.

There are 38 old Olive trees like this on our land and every year in January, we hand pick them and take them to the local press. The virgin organic oil is a wonderful bright green colour. We also have some eating olives, large black Kalamata variety and we pick these in November and preserve them for use during the year ahead.
There are many walks in the area for all capabilities, here is a nice one for a day out.
